Gov’t Loses GH¢69m – To Rice Smugglers

Ghana loses approximately GH¢69 million annually due to the activities of rice smugglers who operate along the country’s borders with Cote d’Ivoire. A report by the Ministry of Information, which made this known, said importers are also losing out while the livelihood of local farmers have been threatened because of unsustainable farming.
