The Chief Executive of the Ghana Chamber of Mines and Chairperson of Finatrade Foundation, Ms. Joyce Aryee, has noted that Finatrade Foundation is committed to supporting the development of the Ghanaian economy.
Finatrade, she said has grown to be a major player in the Ghanaian economy today, adding that, it has impacted positively on the different sectors of the Ghanaian economy with great discharge of its corporate social responsibilities.
Ms. Aryee made this known at a dinner ceremony organised by Finatrade for its clients of Continental Commodity Trading Company (CCTC), Sucatrade and Market Direct Limited (MDL), all subsidiaries of Finatrade Foundation.
She said Finatrade Foundation can now be located in six West African countries and employs over 2000 Ghanaians directly and thousands indirectly.
Ms. Aryee said, Finatrade through the support of it subsidiaries have sponsored over 120 brilliant but needy Ghanaians students offering courses in agriculture in higher institutions.
The Chairperson noted that, the foundations objective is to reinvigoragate the Ghanaian agricultural sector; as such Finatrade in 2004 instituted a Foundation, which now runs about four projects in the country, namely the Finatrade scholarship scheme for students.
The others are the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology model farm, the Information Communication Technology and the Finatrade Humanitarian Project which has saved the lives of many Ghanaian with heart, kidney and other health related problems, where beneficiaries could not afford to pay their school fees.
The group, she said, has initiated a graduate scholarship scheme for agricultural students due to commence in February this year, she emphasised that the group is committed to supporting government realise its goals.
The executive chairman of Finatrade, Mr. Nabil Moukarzel, indicated that their main objective for organising the dinner is to recognise and celebrate the hard work and efforts that go into making a successful partnership.
Success, he said, is the fruit of hard work, team work; loyalty and trust .We at finatrade live by these four words.
Mr. Moukarzel explained that they contribute substantially to the development agenda of Ghana by meeting tax obligations and as well as living up to their corporate social responsibility.
